Quick run to Helen's Bay for a bracing walk by way of masochistic punishment for last night's excesses.

LK and I sat up till 5am - amazingly we both stayed awake the whole way through the Oscars ceremony. I really enjoyed the show - Ellen DeGeneres was a great host and the speeches were intelligent and heartfelt. I still maintain that Cate Blanchett needs to be barred from awards - how will anybody ever beat her?!

One beer, two bottles of prosecco, two pizzas and a bag of hula-hoops. Is it any wonder we're a pair of tubbers this weather?
