YARN BOMBING ON THE BRIDGE !
Love it or hate it, yarn bombing is here to stay. It's the act of street art where knitters and crocheters put swatches of their work on public objects. It began in 2004 in The Netherlands and has spread to become a worldwide phenomenon. The yarn is wrapped around trees, bike racks, railings and even public statues. The beauty of yarn bombing is that it is temporary and can be removed without damage, although you need to get permission here and give a date for removal before it deteriorates and looks yucky ! The unexpected colour and cosiness in an urban area puts a smile on many faces, although, it must be said, some people do not see it that way. This yarn bombing is on Mill Road railway bridge in Cambridge.
