Nepali strike

Today in Kathmandu was the opening day of polling in the Nepali election. The controversial extreme Maoist party had threatened to bomb the polling stations in Kathmandu in an attempt to intimidate the voters. The whole of Kathmandu was in lock down, and the only means of transport was the rickshaw (which some young Nepali entrepreneurs saw as an opportunity to have a lucrative day, at the expense of tourists!).
A lot of rickshaw owners were around the deserted streets, smoking, and waiting for business.
Exciting in a way to be a part of Nepali history.
