Supernatant

Today was a beautiful, warm Spring day 12 degrees C

A mute swan and his retinue of black headed gulls. If you were wondering why these black headed gulls don’t have black heads it’s because this is their Winter plumage. In the Winter they lose their black heads and have just one spot of black beneath each eye.

I think these birds can be described as supernatant. Calmly floating on the surface of the lake waiting for me to throw them some food. I had to disappoint them. I only had my camera.

Compare these two statements:
'It's a cool Autumn day 29 degrees C' Mollymay (my sister)

'It's a beautiful, warm Spring day 12 degrees C' Anniemay

It's all relative!!
