Celebrating life

Missing

Persistent
Throughout the wet, wet winter
The tiny flowers
Are a constant reminder
Of sunnier, summery days to come
And lift my spirits
On my mum's birthday
As I miss her all over again.

I should have blipped carnations, as they were my mum's favourite flower. But apart from a power walk this morning, have been in catching up on business and household accounts and taking some time out to remember my mum, and Tom's mum on the anniversary of her death. And these Erysimum 'Bowles's Mauve' - or wallflowers - are very pretty and cheery and among my favourite plants.
