Suddenly sun

A lovely day today. We had a few things to do in the Penrith area, so we decided to make the most of the nice weather and walk above Threlkeld. This is one of our favourite tracks. It actually skirts the lower slopes of Belncathra and follows the valley of the Glenderaterra Beck, with Lonscale Fell on the other side. The Glenderaterra flows into the River Greta and eventually into Derwentwater. The volcano-like hill in the distance is Great Calva.

Some blue skies, quite a bit of cloud and certainly cold, but occasionally the sun shone brightly and lit up the fellside quite magically.
