"Edible Frisbies Springtime Tuesday"

I went to Sun Street in Waltham Abbey this morning to photograph the Shrove Tuesday pancake race.

The pre-school children were first. I don't have much to do with young children these days. I'd forgotten how they always seem to have runny noses at that age. It is striking also how their characters are already formed. One can spot the go-getters immediately.

I had a nice chat with two gentleman of the Press, pro togs, and a lovely French girl came out of her café and gave the race spectators tasty morsels of ham and cheese pancakes.

A guy from the Apollo Café won the business people's race. I could tell he was in earnest as soon as I saw him. :)
