SMILE
Reasons to smile
*It makes us look younger and more attractive
*Improves our mood
*Relieves stress
*Boosts your immune system
*Releases endorphins and serotonin that makes us feel better
I was driving today and had just read an article the night before about how smiling can improve your mood and actually make you feel better. Each time you smile, it releases endorphins and serotonin. There are all sorts of good things that can come from that.
Therefore, I decided to practice. I was alone in the car, the music was on and the sun was out. I put on a big smile. I was thinking about how great it would be if a simple thing like smiling could really make an otherwise normal day turn into a great day. Just as I was thinking that very thought I realized I had driven right past my exit on the highway. I had to laugh about it. How funny that I was so busy smiling that I missed my turn off and had to turn the car around. In a way it worked. I went from not smiling, to smiling, to laughing at myself.
I managed to capture this shot of the bird through the front window of my sister’s house this afternoon. By the way, when I told her about what happened when I was smiling to myself in the car earlier, I laughed all over again.
