Watch out, bow-and-arrow wielding Scotsmen.
Listening to the radio on the way home from work, I heard a segment about ridiculous old laws around the world that are still on the statutes (although hopefully not enforced). These include:
*Women may not dress as men (ie wear pants) without the permission of a policeman unless holding the reins of a horse or the handlebars of a bicycle (France)
*Women of ill-repute or evil looks may not enter a cheese factory in the area of Ferrara (Italy)
*A pregnant woman may relieve herself anywhere she likes - even in a policeman's hat (England)
*It is acceptable to murder a Scotsman within the city walls of York, but only if he's carrying a bow and arrow (England)
