Good post!
It's always a brighter day when gig tickets drop through the letter box. Our gig going has slowed down a bit of over recent years as we've had to cancel out due to work, a sick child, general knackeredness, migraines etc. Nowadays choices on gigs go by a few factors:
- can we sit down as opposed to standing (both small so can't see over giants' heads)
- does it finish at a reasonable time
- is it a fairly small venue (more intimate gig experience)
- is it an act we really must see or just one we wouldn't mind seeing
- are there any decent places to eat nearby
This one for Midlake is at Halifax Minster. I love gigs in churches. It has to be the right band or artist. I've seen Low at Leeds Parish Church and also HalifX Minster and those gigs are always an eclectic experience, usually candlelit and just a fantastic experience. Looking forward to this one and it's not until July!
