A drop of red

DDW's March Vocabulary Challenge Day 5 : Tenebrous

HV joined me on the morning dog dirtying exercise and we seemed to do remarkably well, both dogs needing a hose down before they could come into the house.

I departed for work, with a list of things to do. Unfortunately just before I arrived at the first job I noticed the van was handling a little funny. I had a flat, the first one for a very long time. No problem, I have a spare. An hour later, and accompanied by much swearing, I gave up on trying to get the spare wheel off from its stupid mounting under the van. I walked to the local garage (where they know me well - the boss is a customer and the head mechanic is a friend) and asked for assistance. The lad who came to help made me look like a complete muppet. He jacked the van up and seemed to release the spare wheel with no problem at all. I guess there is a knack. I shall find out tomorrow when I collect the wheel with its new tyre.

So I finally got started on work and had to give up on the first job of the day, moving pipes which cross a loft hatch. One of them is made of plastic and of a type I have not encountered before, and the plastic tank has a split in it. I need to speak to the customer before progressing further.

Second job was a little leak to sort, and the third was talking to a customer who may want a biomass boiler.

I came home and decided that it was time to do something with the five gallons of wine that have been fermenting for a while now. The fermentation has pretty much stopped so the wine has been transferred to another container to settle out and de-gas. It is a bit tenebrous at the moment - cloudy and murky with yeast. It will clear though. And it tastes pretty good already :)
