TAKING A CUE FROM LORD NELSON

Went to London to sort out my South African passport. We joined the queue outside the imposing building in Trafalgar Square and had this view of Nelson's column against the blue. Apparently. when he died, his body was returned to England preserved in a barrel of brandy. I didn't know that. All I know was that despite the clear sky it wasn't warm standing on that pavement, and we were happy to sip from Mundy's handy hip flask to preserve us.
