Captain's Logbook

By CaptainSensible

Taken for granted.

Took a short walk at lunchtime to park my car where I won't get a ticket. Just walking back to the office I passed this little church. St Mary's in Finchley established in the 12th century, with the tower dated around the 1480's

I pass it every day and don't really give it a second thought. It's just off the high street, obscured by a bus stop and library. It reminded me how rich in heritage we really are.

In Key West in the states some years ago I was strongly urged to visit their town hall - it was 100 years old!

While here we are ignoring stuff like this which is over 600 years old.
