heavy reading material.

This is the Leicester Magazine Gateway to give it it`s full title.
Built around 1410, the Magazine was used as an armoury by the Militia after the Civil War.
During restoration work, two human skulls where found inside the toilet shaft. How they got there, no one knows.
In the 1890`s a barracks was built alongside for the Leicester Militia. This was later demolished in the 60`s to make way for a new road scheme which effectively isolated the building in the middle of the ring road.
The road system has since changed again as a result of the new Phoenix Arts Centre and the Magazine will soon be accessible to the public.

Believe it or not, there where plans to demolish the building but fortunately protests saved it
