Hey Day@ Low Tide
And again, early this morning biking to the swimming pool, I blipped some dawn pictures. Beautiful rosa-pink skies, dark trees but unfit for sharing with you. I feel happy to be back in the poolwater and I cherish the bodily feeling of relaxedness after the swimming. Later on during the day our daughter needed our assistance and support in formalizing a serious decision. Cutting through oppressive knots in your relation system, is vital, especially when compliance and postponement blockes your growing proces on a deeper level.
As our own life experiences will tell in a thousand different ways, to “de-cide” means cutting yourself free in a really liberating way. And of course also in perpective of a “positive direction”, meaning: making it possible again to find yourself back in the start of a new life. In proceeding on your authentic Way of Becoming what you are: following your vocation, realising your talents and gifts. Deciding not out of fear or desperation, not by choosing your heels, but by setting things straight as you perhaps should have done already earlier. If you had had that courage to BE yourself.
It is only natural that during such fundamental “overturning” life events, feelings of anger, sorrow and even bitterness may turn up. But we have learned better not to cultivate these reactionary emotions, but to let them/it go gradually and decisively. And ultimately to transcend them “sub specie aeternitatis”(Spinoza).
Whether you have to deal with leaving a “love”-relation, to end a “friendship”, to resign from career function or to quit a job. Sometimes feelings of grave injustice may stick in your heart and transform into a smoldering fire endangering your own life, but perhaps more import also your relation to loved ones.
During the process of growing wiser - not sadder! - some taste of ‘bitter’ sweetness may remain, not in order to loose our contact with an eternal new beginning, but to savour a liberating sense of humour. Laughing that broadens not only our breathing but also our spirit. So that’s why I reload my energies in early swim, enjoy walking together (or alone) at the seaside (High Times at Low Tide!) and meditate on the meaning of a French maxim: “Les désillusions sont des libertés reconquises”(Desillusions are reconquered freedoms, La Roche Foucauld).
