Bars, boards and broken glass
This area of decay sits just a couple of hundred metres from the brand new office block I blipped the other day, which itself is on the end of a row of shiny glass buildings beside landscaped walkways next to the river.
I expect this will all get knocked down before too long. I'm was walking here as there is nowhere to park near my work - for free anyway - so I have to go hunting around for a space. The situation has got worse because my work took everyone's parking spaces away under the building and instead people have to pay for them on a monthly basis. What that means in practice is that the car park under the building sits mostly empty while we all try to find somewhere else to park or pay a cheaper car park.
On top of that, Bristol's mayor George Ferguson is introducing resident-only parking in most of central Bristol to deter people from driving into the city and the area around my work is among the first to get the scheme. Crazy really as it is mostly businesses and offices, not homes.
It would be lovely to walk or cycle to work but as I live a 45-minute drive away it's not really feasible!
