......one thing after another...........

When Phil stripped out the old kitchen we "found" an old doorway that had been breeze blocked over. We knew it was there, what we didn't know was that the new wall hadn't been bonded to any other part of the wall.

So today Phil had to fit a couple of iron bars across the doorway and then fit the plaster board so we now have a secure flush wall.

But then, stripping off the ceiling wall paper, he discovered a patch of plaster that was brittle and bowed and collapsed on him almost straight away. Seems that a long time ago (before we moved in) there'd been a leak in the bathroom that had either gone undetected...or had just been allowed to dry and then papered over. So tomorrow that needs repairing....all these little things are causing delays that make it very unlikely that we'll have a kitchen before the end of next week.

Oh well....these things are sent to try us......just one more day at work and it's the weekend.
