Hanging out at Caves

Today we dived a site called Caves, which is to the south of Dahab. Funnily enough, the distinctive feature of this site is a large cave, although there is also some very nice coral around.

This is our dive guide just hanging out at the cave while we explore inside.

In diving, cave penetration (going into caves) is a tricky business as you can no longer get straight to the surface in the event of an emergency. This isn't a very big cave though and you can see the light from the entrance from every part of it so technically it's a cavern. It's not too deep underwater either, so you can go inside it pretty safely. If you want to do proper "cave diving" then you need special training and equipment to make sure you don't get lost and can cope with emergencies.
