Thistle Down

By Ethel

Young Girl

You are mine,
My daughter...that's you.
This body is where,
Your precious roots grew.

God sent you down,
A special dear part.
Then added your spirit,
To gladden my heart.

In this mortal life,
It was known unto me.
That I should give council,
And teach thee to be.

Pure and supernal,
And worthy of kin.
Bringing joys...to God's kingdom,
With no time for sin.

For thou art my daughter,
And my love does unlatch.
Thou art blessed as a woman,
And impossible to match.
