November 1999. The end of Frank's backstory - that last line is somewhat famous by now (not from me, from the original soldier who said it back in the 1970s).

The second strip: the hot dog lady was a recurring character based on the real hot dog lady who had a cart right outside the English building at Univ of Arizona Tucson. She was incredibly nice and I told her I'd make a character out of her - so I did, one who was all knowing and seeing. It's not a very funny joke, tho - and it should come right after Tad and Frank break up. Eh. Shrug.
