Blank Hardscape

Mississippi State University is located in the heart of the South. Our departmental buildings were designed and constructed to accommodate the context of our location through climate awareness and cultural significance. Nothing is more culturally significant than a porch in the South; however, our departmental building A has a balcony (upgraded porch) to capitalize on the Southern breezes. It is a great place to relieve the pressures of studio life, but it was, until now, cluttered with random, unwanted furniture and materials.

Along with the redesign of our courtyard space, members of the class are cleaning, redesigning, constructing, and furnishing this balcony. It will be reincarnated into its intended social space.
