Up at the allotment
A lovely sunny day so it was up to the allotment to get the plot and additional land into shape for the spring. Although it was a delightful day the biting critters were out in force. You never see them attack but I came home with 2 large swellings on my left arm. They draw blood and sneek into the gap between glove and sleeve.
I spent a couple of hours clearing the ground on the new part of the plot while Susan harvested the leeks and weeded the broad beans, garlic and shallots. This was the first time we'd both been to the allotment since the shed had been errected so it was very nice to cycle up there without having to carry tools.
On the way to the plot we passed a truck outside a house with some pallets in the back. There was nobody about to ask but on the way home the chap was sitting in the cab so I asked about the pallets and he very kindly delivered them to our home. He promised more but they had already gone. They'll be used to extend our terrace of compost bins.
Following on from the surgeon's go ahead I went for a run outside, in Mote Park, for the first time since last September. It was good, despite the initial 400 metres being dodgy. Got over that and for the remaining distance there was no trouble at all. Went to the physio in the afternoon for a final assessment and was told to do what the surgeon had said - put it under pressure. So now, in addition to all the other exercises I have to hop on one leg, backwards and forwards, hop and turn through 90 deg and skip side to side, one foot in front of the other - describing how to do it is too hard.
