Grails

I accidentally got to play a "Grail game" last night. Queen's Gambit was a hasbro /Avalon hill collaboration alongside SW episode 1. It's one of the few mass market movie tie -in games that is good, has lots of bits, and proved popular. It's long out of print, much sought after, and ridiculously expensive now ~$300 used. One of the key features of the game is how multiple 'boards' interact.

Why am I thinking about this? As I post this the morning after Dml2014 tweets are floating past my eyes and there's a lot of chatter about games. Seemingly alternating between simplistic- how do we make a game to teach x and more thoughtful -how do we interact with games and each other around and through games. Simulation, information, interaction, process, and reflection to name a few ideas.
