Anna's Cross
After a morning of chores and preparing the bathroom for replastering we decided to have an afternoon walk on the Moors.
It was rather blustery but it certainly blew the cobwebs away. The cross is a replacement (the original top resides in the crypt of Lastingham Church). This is the tallest of the 37 moorland crosses and once stood much higher at around 8 metres. The only problem being it kept falling over. The shaft has been replaced hence its lighter hue.
This view is looking towards Rosedale with the famous chimney bank off to the left. Apart from a gamekeeper we had the moor to ourselves.
