62/365: Blackford Hill

Went to a Winter astronomy evening at the observatory tonight, which was really interesting. I love looking at the stars and hearing about different constellations! My camera wasn't very happy about focusing in the dark without a tripod, so I decided to just up the blur even more in the photo of the view from the flat roof of the observatory next to the old telescope tower.

Unfortunately they don't use the 36" telescope at the observatory anymore, but instead they control remote telescopes in places like Hawaii, the Canary Islands and Chile and then analyse the data in Edinburgh.
