Blossom 2

Since the first appearance of the blossom a week ago, the trees in the road have come out fully.

Some years ago, the road was lined with mature trees like this and it was a glorious sight at this time of year. Sadly many of the trees have been removed (presumably because they were becoming unsafe). The council have generally been good at replacing the missing trees, but the new young trees will need many years to reach the size and glory of the remaining batch of original trees. In addition, some of the new trees have a pink blossom rather than the pure white of the originals, so the effect in the future will be, I believe, less dramatic.

It was remarkably warm today in the sun. We've still not had any really cold weather for the winter: is it still to come?
