Lent is a Tree Without Blossom

"Lent is a tree without blossom, without leaf,...
... Between black branches, a most precious space
Before the leaf, before the time of flowers,
Lest we should see only the leaf, the flower,
Lest we should miss the stars"

Jean M. Watt

I don't usually observe Lent, but this book of poems for Lent and Easter that my sister recommended just captured my imagination, so I decided to join with her in finding a photo to go with the poem each day.

Today's poem talks about observing the space between all things. I'm thinking about the space between an event and your response to it. The space between you and another person, and the ability to choose what goes into that space.
