haze

Odd sort of day.

The haze has returned, that's why the sky is so murky. I took part in my first mass participation run, and this is what it looked like half an hour before the start (the curved roof is the top of the Marina Barrage, it's actually grassed over, and the tall building in the background is the Marina Bay Sands hotel, with one of our two casinos attached to it). The haze wasn't too bad at run time, but I'm really not used to running with so many people, it takes a certain skill to weave around others, and I haven't mastered that yet.

And there's an odd sense of apprehension and worry because of the missing Malaysian Airlines plane. As I'm writing this they still haven't found the plane, but truthfully, it's probably been a terrible disaster. My thoughts go out to the families of those on the plane.

Finally on a lighter note, my young twenty-something year old neighbour decided to throw a party with a giant bouncy castle in the middle of the street. She told her mother that she'd never had one when she was a kid, so she was having a party for all the kids in the neighbourhood. How sweet!
