Spitfire!

Something I didn't know anything about until quite recently was that Grangemouth had its own Spitfire squadron during the second world war.

I read a book about it, fascinating and tragic. So many great characters destroyed by the most terrible of wars (71 according to a quick hunt on google)

In May last year they erected this life sized Spitfire replica in memory of the brave souls from a time all too easily forgotten.
