Finally a relaxing day! I ditched all my chores in favour of coffee in bed with a novel. Then I went to have my eyelashes permed... There's a first time for everything!

I then took myself to the National Gallery to see the Arnolfini Portrait. I've become convinced that Grant Wood's American Gothic is very similar. Perhaps that's just me?! Anyway, the flipping thing is temporarily relocated. Typical! So I whizzed round to see their two Vermeers and then took a close up look at Mr and Mrs Andrews. That was delightful so all is not lost.

Then I went to see Simon Callow in Being Shakespeare. He was amazing. It must be exhausting doing a one man show.

So the theme of the day seems to be long dead artists ... And a big blue cock in Trafalgar Square ;0)
