Brooklyn books ...

The great thing about our neighbourhood is the amazing literary generosity of its residents. When people have finished with the books they are reading, they put them out on their stoop/staircase for others to enjoy.

My children are quite mortified, but these are the books I've collected over the last two weeks on the walk to school. In continuing the tradition, they are put out the front of our house when we are finished with them.

There are also some quite bizarre things left on the stoops as well .... lots of coffee makers, shoes, various pieces of IKEA furniture with the instructions taped to them and the occasional gem such as ice skates. You often see people stopping to try on clothes out the front of a house.
