BANYAN TREE
This Banyan Tree has aerial prop roots that grow down from the branches, and anchor into the ground. These prop roots grow into thick, woody trunks which eventually become indistinguishable from the main trunk so that the tree spreads out to cover a wide area.
I spent most of the day on Gasparilla Island off south-west Florida on the Gulf of Mexico. It was a windy day so the splash of the waves was quite powerful. We happened to drive past a charter fishing boat place where they were cleaning the fish from a boat that had just come in. The pelicans were gathering nearby knowing they would be given the leftovers from the cleaning.
I hope to catch up with comments in the next couple days. Enjoy your weekend!
