Baby quails!!

Certainly not the best picture I have taken, but shortly after it was taken these little souls launched themselves off the ledge, so no take 2!!

Before we left Rotarua this morning we had a wander round the lakeside and took pictures of the black swans and a sea plane (which will go into flickR later).

We drove on to Tauanga and met up with the only traffic delay that we have experienced on this trip. A very nasty RTA which was being dealt with by numerous emergency services vehicles. A sobering reminder of the continuing need for road safety.

An invitation to tea was accepted from blippers, DawgGal & M at their place. A most enjoyable visit to see and hear about their work and interests, also to meet their dogs and birds. They took us to see the amazing work that local volunteers have done within an abandoned quarry and we spent about an hour wandering round admiring the stunning views and range of trees and plants.

Thank you so much for your hospitality and that excellent tea, the best cuppa that I have tasted in NZ (I'm more than a bit choosy about my tea and this was perfect!!)
