Once upon a time in a train station far far away..
Or...The Thinker
Once, years ago, in the train station in Agra, I crossed a train bridge over the tracks to buy some fruit and biscuits for our train ride back to Jaipur. As I finished my purchase, grabbed the paper bag full of bananas and started up the stairs, I looked up...straight into the eyes of a monkey. He was looking straight at me. We both hesitated for the merest fraction of a second. I blinked -- he did not -- not once. He looked once at the bag I was carrying. Then, as he swung directly toward me, he never took his eyes off mine. He was about nine feet from me when I threw the bag away from me, in the other direction, over his shoulder. He stopped and stared hard at me. I was frozen to the spot. He turned around, grabbed my lunch, and went to sit back up on his perch above the staircase. What a freakin' racket!
We rarely see monkeys at this hotel because the owners have a dog who goes crazy whenever they come around. But today, there was a whole troop of them through, and they had a couple of little babies with them. The babies never did sit still so I missed pics of them. But I love the fact that, even though these two are almost identical in size, they have such distinct faces.

Also went to a beautiful wedding. But we mostly ate and came home again.
