Omar the Adorable

After the emotional roller-coaster at Murrayfield yesterday, we stayed overnight with my sister in Galashiels.

I didn't plan to have two doggy blips in a row, but couldn't resist her Omar. She tells me he's a Leonberger, but I'm convinced there's a bit of bear in there too. He's not just beautiful, he's one of the most lovable - and loving - dogs I've ever come across. (Though there may be an element of "cupboard love" to his affection - while he was cosying up to me, I couldn't help notice how he was manouevering closer to my dinner plate, which he was more than capable of reaching!)

He is HUGE - and I'm saying this as a former Great Dane owner! He's actually not much heavier than our late Dane (at least before the vet put her on a diet ;) so I'm sure the "big hair" plays a part, but he seems much more massive.
