A long walk
Not the brightest of days it has to be said, but I took the opportunity for a walk.
I caught the bus to West Linton, passing through central Edinburgh which was awakening to the post-match French victory at Murrayfield; lots of smug looking fans wandering the streets looking for coffee.
From West Linton, I set off north to Baddinsgill, and then onto the Cauldstane Slap, an old Drovers' Road which was once the shortest route to the cattle market at Falkirk. The clag closed in, and I splodged up to the summit of East Cairn Hill where two elderly ladies were sheltering from the wind. They had intended on climbing Ben Ledi today, but on their approach to Stirling decided to turn round due to the weather.
I headed north-east and reached Balerno after 3 or 4 hours, where I joined the excellent Water-of-Leith walkway to head back to Edinburgh. Arrived home after 20miles and 6.5hours of walking. Exhausted.
