Boat trip
I think these might be cormorants, but this is a blurry, far-off photo taken from a moving boat. It was another ridiculously sunny day and we went down to the port the river cruises leave from for lunch. The restaurant was heaving with people, most of them eating paella. We instead chose to eat fish baked in salt, bream for S and bass for me. It was delicious, a bit expensive but this may have been accounted for by the labour cost of the waitress breaking off the salt crust and then filleting the whole fish with a fork, meticulously extracting every single stray bone before serving it.
Nearly all the clients left at 3:25, and it was clear that a boat was about to leave. So we quickly paid and hopped on board. Truth to tell the 45-minute cruise down to the sea and back was not that interesting, but it was about the level of activity we could cope with after lunch.
As well as the restaurants and bars, the quay houses a couple of shops selling piles of ghastly souvenirs, none of which have any relevance to the local area. Statuettes of Snow White and the seven dwarves, fluffy dolphins, tropical seashells, sombreros, flamenco dolls ... I considered blipping them, but I just couldn't face it. I'm glad to say that they weren't doing much business.
