Springtime
Sick and tired of blippin' daffodils? Not me. These were only just opening up when we left a week ago and when I spotted them this morning in the garden, I felt a warm glow.
For me, they epitomised the day, spring, happiness and my feelings.
My cousin James, his wife Carla and their 3 month old son, Dylan, joined us for Sunday lunch today. They have travelled up from Harwich to spend a few days in Yorkshire. Unfortunately, it clashed with our skiing trip but we still managed to snatch a few hours with them today. Carla is Venezuelan and loves to travel. She instigated the trip north and it was really lovely to see them. Dylan was a smiling little beauty. We used to spend summers in Harwich with James and his twin sisters and have some very good memories of times spent with them. As adults, we haven't spent a huge amount of time together and it's lovely to start to get to know each other again.
My walk on the moors felt like spring - I smiled at primroses, blossom, lambs, the sound of golden plover and even mosquitoes.
My ribs aren't too debilitating especially if I hang on to them when I walk!
