Oh I do like to be beside the seaside!

We set out today with every intention of going to CBeebies Andy and Mike's time machine show on tour but were thwarted with the traffic chaos around town. Temporary traffic lights on a very busy road making it single file through a long stretch of road coupled with the sun shining meant every man and his dog were trying to get somewhere and we were at a bit of a standstill. Anyway, we realised we weren't going to make it until at least half an hour late so headed to the seaside instead on a bit of a whim. We hadn't packed coats as it was rather glorious when we left. Sadly not quite so sunny at the seaside but there was sand and seashells, ice cream and fish and chips.

We spent a bit of time at Southport beach, then came home via Formby and Crosby to see the Gormley 'other world' statues. They were a lot smaller than I imagined they were. Formy is lovely, pine forest, sand dunes, red squirrels and a lovely beach - definitely a place to visit in the summer.
