Beauty, delicacy, grace, radiance, freedom, safety, all qualities a woman would wish for watching these gorgeous creatures. I wish them for all of us!

The Man and I made a day visit up to Edinburgh to visit #2 Daughter and help her take some things away from her flat while some serious repair and redecoration work is done following the December gales.

Apart from time at Makro, Sainsbury's, and Ikea we enjoyed lunch at Dobbies and spent a lot of the afternoon in the Butterfly House. It was lovely to see the transformation as butterflies emerged from their chrysalises and hung, spreading their wings ready for flight.

Lucky butterflies! Bursting out into freedom, but not into the wide open world, but safely sheltered in a large home with food and warmth supplied. Very soon after we entered, a butterfly landed on my head and stayed there all the time I was there. Everybody commented about it and looked at it, I felt very honoured. I'd like to say it was because I'm such a sweet person that it chose me but too many people know me!
