Big Old Tree

This is a very, very old tree down at Balmerino Abbey along the coast of Fife. It's a Spanish chestnut and it is so big it needs metal poles to support it.
It was supposedly planted in the 1200's but the National Trust reckon it's around 450 years old from the samples they took. It's wonderful to be around, and touch something so old, and still alive. It's so weird!
