What to do to fix the leak damage….
Did you know who this was? Ha.
Back in January the roof around the skylight leaked into the living room. If you look you can see the part that is peeling from the ceiling and needs to be repaired. Not that big a deal. However, to get to it IS a big deal. So here is our painter/repair guy Ken preparing to take this picture down so he doesn’t drip plaster goo on it. The bottom of this wall is 10 feet above the floor of the living room which is on the second floor of the condo. I thought showing the spaces from here (landing by the 3rd floor bedroom) was interesting - you can see outside and also cars reflected in the art.
The portrait of H and me was done by an artist friend of mine - we were at a gallery where I was showing my sail paintings in 1981! It’s more than 7 ft high so fits on this wall, is kind of hidden as you have to go to the 3rd floor to really see it. H and I put it up there ourselves-not quite sure how. It’s a collage and some of the pieces need gluing, and a little retouching where it’s cracking - not possible to bend or roll it. So now it’s hanging in my little studio to be spiffed up and we’ll get Ken to put it back!
Put a few on flickr to record how the ladders work (and also the old very bad print that the painting was based on, enuf that you get the idea (I could probably fix it but don’t have the time!) :-)
And tomorrow the new cabinets for the extra bathroom renovation (Rousseau to elephants) are arriving! NO dull moments this week!
