Mauao summit

In the morning we visited the sites of Historical Tauranga and then had some lunch on The Strand which was known in the early days (1864) of the military as The Beach. The afternoon we took up the challenge to climb to the top of Mount Maungnui (Mauao). Clear blue sky, very warm day (32 c) which meant loads of photo opportunities of the surrounding landscapes as we climbed Mauao. Then back to the motel to recover before setting off for The Strand again for our evening meal. Tomorrow we set off for Wellsford, north of Auckland.
