Jobs

Today saw part one of job allocations for final year medical students in the UK. I was lucky enough to get my first choice of a job in the North Western deanery, so my task over the next couple of weeks is to rank which Trusts I would like to work in from 1-12. This map has been proved by the deanery to assist in these choices...!

In other news, today has been a great day in theatre! I've assisted in a knee replacement, a ligament reconstruction, removal of metalwork, abscess draining and fixing a hip! So much variation today! My consultant has been great, allowing me to slow the whole team down doing my painfully slow sutures and making get involved in as much as I can. She also very kindly said that if I'd like to come back and work here for a year when I'm qualified then she'd happily get me a job. Remember why I love orthopaedics again now!
