Bassenthwaite Lake

I set off relatively early this morning and drove up to the Lake District for a short mini break. I checked into Ravenstone Manor, my home for the next 2 nights, and then went for a walk along the lakeside in beautiful sunshine. Back at the hotel it was a quick change then down to the restaurant with log fire where i enjoyed a sumptious meal of warm pigeon salad, a first for me, and i must say very nice too, followed by a delicious salmon steak with spring vegetables, all washed down with a couple of glasses of wine. This is the life! :-)
