The Mary Rose

After a good few days in Swanage we've now come to Portsmouth to visit the Mary Rose exhibition. I knew it would be interesting, but I was surprised at a) how big the boat must have been, and b) the number of artefacts that have been found. It's amazing how good the condition of some of them is, given that they have been in sea water for about 450 years. It's not cheap to get in, but the ticket lasts for a year so we could come back and see everything else in the dockyards that we didn't have time for today. This unfortunate ship's dog was one of the many casualties when she went down in the Solent.
