Bikes

A bit of a thumb-twiddling morning, waiting (a) in case any problems arose with the print job, and (b) for the postman to arrive with a promised cheque. No sign of either happening by 2.30 pm (I guess the job is trouble-free (surprising, in view of the mad rush), and perhaps the postman was joining in the general strike today, protesting against public-service pay cuts).

Anyway, I couldn't wait any longer without feeding my bank account, so I braved the wind and the rain and the generally changeable conditions for a trip to the bank. Any time I mention that, there's usually a blip from somewhere around Baggot Street, and today is no exception. I was no sooner back out of the bank than the wind built up and the rain got heavier, but, nothing daunted, I stayed around for fifteen minutes or so doing a bit of blipping.

There's a Dublin Bikes station right beside the Bank of Ireland off Baggot Street, and the guts who travel around collecting and returning and re-distributing them had just tidied up the rank, so it was fully stocked with the cute little things -- excellent blip material. I must look into the workings of this scheme, just in case I decide to give it a go some time. We shall see.
