Excuse me, have you seen my lake?

This is March Break for R and C. Since it wasn't in the cards for their parents to take a vacation this year, they are coming along with me into the city and attending day camp.

Their camp is down by the lake and on my walk back to the office, I noticed quite the collection of ducks and geese around a tiny patch of open water. As you can see, even after a couple of days of milder weather the ice is pretty solid. This mallard didn't seem to mind having his picture taken.

Last year I was in Pawley's Island, S.C. My dad is back there again this year. Although I should not complain, I do wish I had been able to join them. It was such a peaceful place.
