...and then there were two!
Home we go! After giving birth on Sunday afternoon, I stayed on for just under 48 hours in the Maternity Ward at Hexham General Hospital, which certainly lives up to its nickname 'The Hexham Hilton'. Brilliant facilities, superb staff; it really does feel like a hotel stay! But I felt it was time to get back today and begin our new life together as a family of four.
I'm incredibly sad that my Mam will never hold her new grandchild, especially as she was so very excited about the pregnancy (and Mam wasn't one to get excited about much!). It seems poetic, though, that Ophelia was born on what would have been my Mam and Dad's 53rd Wedding Anniversary. Worth those ten overdue days. And a labour lasting just under two hours thrown in to get the pregnancy over with very quickly in the end!
Backblipped past two days:
Sunday: Mammy and Ophelia, when little one was just Twenty minutes old
Monday: Grace and Ophelia in Meet your sister!
