St Pauls Paihia

We are staying next to this historic church.

It was built in 1925 to commemorate Henry and Marion Williams who set up the first mission station in Paihia and built the first church in 1823. The tombstone in the foreground is a memorial to Rev Henry Williams who was much loved by pakeha and maori in this region.
